The objective of HERCULES will be the improvement of innovation in healthcare regional policies in the framework of person-centred care and support/personalized medicine through their performance´s enhancement in fostering healthcare innovation from the demand-side (e.g. Public Procurement of Innovation processes thanks to the increased institutional capacities of the partnership members and contribution to a Smarter Europe).

What has this project tried to change?

Buildings account for 40% of energy use and 36% of CO2 emissions in the European Union. Currently, about 35% of the EU’s buildings are over 50 years old, and by improving their energy efficiency we could reduce total EU energy consumption by 5-6% and lower CO2 emissions by about 5%.

Increasing investment in energy efficiency and renewable energy for buildings is a major challenge, requiring substantial up-front investments (estimated at €38 billion during 2011-30).

The European Union provides support for the creation of funding instruments, especially Financial Instruments (FIs) supported by ERDF funds and integrated with EC funding initiatives, such as EFSI (Juncker Plan 06/2015), tools from the European Investment Bank EIB (ELENA, Margarite Funds) or from public and private partnerships.

Soon we will be peer reviewing policies, practises and models around Europe with the support of E-Mob project /

A workshop of how to organise these peer reviews is held at the University premises in Kozani on Tuesday the 4th of February 2020

Project’s  Scope

E-MOB stands for integrated actions towards enhanced e-mobility in European Regions and aims at enhancing e-mobility solutions in regional passenger transport systems through coordinated policy learning and planning. As an ambitious target, the partners strive for influencing in total more than 26 million EUR of Structural and other Funds through 8 policy instruments to be revised in the frame of a series of peer reviews and learning conferences. Based on the outcomes of this interregional learning process (8 good practices and policy recommendations), the partners will jointly elaborate Action Plans for the improved implementation of the selected 4 Structural Fund Programmes and 4 other policy instruments. Actors of regional relevance will be involved in the whole procedure, being invited in the whole interregional learning and action planning process. The engagement of stakeholders will be facilitated by the establishment of 8 Regional Stakeholder Groups. Members of the RSG – together with interested municipalities – will also have the possibility to improve their capacities in turning the policies concerned into actions: Partners will elaborate the E-MOB Guideline and organise regional trainings in e-mobility strategic planning. This coordinated intraregional learning will contribute to plan and implement concrete measures and projects in the field of e-mobility, bringing tangible results to the participating regions.
